Cafayate is a place in the Calchaquíes Valleys situated 183 Km from Salta Capital and you can arrive there all the way through National Route N° 68 and through Rout N° 40 from the south. It is located in the southwest of the province and is the head of Cafayate.
 
     
Cafayate is a famous place because of its vineyards, warehouses and excellent wines (torrontés and malvec) that are produced there. This is, as Tafí Del Valle, one of the most important towns in the tourist Centre of the Calchaquíes Valleys.

Some typical excursions are: the way to Río Colorado, a tour among the mountains and the vegetation where you can enjoy the flora and fauna of the place, arriving finally to a big waterfall. You can also go to San Isidro, a small place on the west of the city and visit Quebrada de las Conchas, one of the most beautiful landscapes of the province.
